Bachelor's Grove Cemetery - Midlodthian, Illinois

A small pond just outside the cemetery is known to be a popular dumping ground for notorious gangster Al Capone's victims

Okay, so this cemetery is definitely one that I would visit and take my Ouija board too. I think that this would be a good place to take my Quija board to because it would be a great place to make contact with the spirits that are there. Over the years this site has had many reports of Satan worshipers and other mysterious site happen at this spot.

Although you are unable to visit Bachelor's Grove Cemetery, this is definitely a palce i would like to sneak into. There have been many "weird" sites and spottings here, There are definitely many rituals I would like to try, such as, Charlie Charlie. One siting is that a ghostly car will drive up and down the main road of the Cemetary and disappear into the distance.

House of Blues - Chicago, Illinois

Reports say the site is haunted by the ghost of a little girl who died of an illness. Witnesses have seen and heard her.

I’ve been to the House of Blues once for a concert, and I actually never once knew that this place was haunted. Now that I know I wish I had stayed over time and went investigating.

Rumors are the girl would get hungry at some point and venture down to the complex's Crossroads restaurant. How creepy is that? I’ve honestly been scared to see little ghost children.

They’re always the creepiest in the movies!! Hancock, their coming for youuuu. >:]

I’m going to visit this place over the summer and play with her. Forreal. Let’s go on a hunting adventure!!!

Bartonville Insane Asylum - Bartonville, Illinois

Bartonville housed 2,800 patients. By 1972 when its closure was announced, the patient census had dropped to 600.

I know a lot about this place, and in my first blog post I posted a little bit about the asylum. I visit here every chance that I get. I haven’t seen anything but I have heard multiple noises. I went on a tour once and when we got to Bookbinders grave, who was the grave digger at the time the place was open, I heard a faint cry. I’m almost positive that I peed myself.

Bartonville Insane Asylum is the number one haunted place in Illinois on multiple sites and it’s pretty true. The Asylum has a few buildings. I’ve been to the infirmary multiple times for movie nights and after they would have a haunted house. I recommend them, I really do.

I think everyone should visit at least once in their life. Live the life, go to haunted places, live a little.

Bring a Camera though just in case you capture something and it could be YOUTUBE FAMOUSSS!!

Devil’s Gate - Libertyville, Illinois

One day, a maniac broke into the school and abducted several of the girls. He killed each one and mounted their severed heads on the spikes of the gate. Every full moon, the heads reappear on the rusted spikes.

The Devil's Gate is now known as the Doddridge Farm, passed through several incarnations as a summer camp. In 1926, Katherine Kreigh Budd Memorial Home for Children happened.

Between 1936 to the early 1980's, the Catholic home became a summer camp for boys, St. Francis boys camp. On May 11, 1961, two year old, Glen Bottorff drowned in the river across the grounds of the not-yet-opened camp. The gate to St. Francis still sits at the entrance. (Yikes.)

The Park District owned the land in 1992 causing them to tear down all the buildings.

I would honestly love to visit this place at night. I'd probably bring a lot of friends so in case something happens, I can just ditch. Every man for himself, right? I think that's the wrong saying.

Cemeteries are always something fun to go to at night. You probably think I'm crazy, but it's true. The story is pretty creepy, which makes wanting to visit ever better.

These places will be on my bucket list for the summer.

Why I chose this as my blog topic!

The reason why I chose this to be my blog topic this year is because I'm really into spooky stuff. Last year I chose horror movies. Ghosts excite me. I'm always going to haunted houses and to the asylum in Bartonville for tours or to watch movies.

I think it'd be pretty cool to teach you about some of the haunted places around Illinois. I grew up with books about haunted places and my favorite book was the weirdest places in Illinois.

The first time I went to the asylum I was maybe 8. I went to the graveyard and learned more about the patients and that basically got me to go to the asylum every chance that I got when I visited Illinois and then I finally moved back here and I would go to the movie nights and the haunted houses across the asylum.

One night I will pay 100 dollars to spend a night there. I'll most likely take my Ouija board there and record everything.

But yeah, that's why I chose this topic.
